Good boy!

Ali loves to talk to Morty, she tells him to 'come' and then tells him 'good boy'. While she was playing with her iPad tonight she got into her favorite app by herself, Stuart and I saw her and got all excited (because usually we have to do it) and told her good job! She got excited and said, 'Good boy!' Oh dear!

Two Dogs

Apparently we have two dogs in this house.  One named Morty and one named Aliyah.

Ali stole Morty's new chewy yesterday.  Thank goodness it was a new one!

She needs a different role model in her life!

She even crawled around with it in her mouth!  Gross!!!  Morty did finally get his bone back and chewed it very quickly.  I guess he didn't want to share!

Figurine

One of the decorations I have at 'Ali-level' is a Willow Tree figurine of a couple.  Ali has recently discovered it and treats them like a baby.

She was being so cute with them, hugging them and rocking them.

I'm not sure why they were upside down.

Then she decided to kiss/taste them.

Apparently they had spent ample time together, so it was time to pull them apart.  She was pulling with all her might!

Ali

I'm a little behind and posting a few pictures on here, so this is a bit of a catch-up post.

I'm always finding Ali in little places where I can't see her initially.  I have a slight moment of panic where I don't know where she is, then she starts talking and I find her hidden somwhere.  I don't know that she is actually hiding, I think she's just so small that she's hard to see! :)

Aliyah loves to pray these days.  Anytime anyone folds their arms, she feels it's a good time for a prayer.  She will remind us before we eat and sometimes she just wants to pray!  She usually folds her arms for most of the prayer, but sometimes she'll grab a little food with one hand while her other hand stays folded.

This girl is in love with her stuffed animals!  She tries to hold as many as possible (much like she does her puzzle pieces or other small toys).

She hugs them and rocks them, it's pretty cute!

Creepy Cousins Tea Party

We got some 1920's pictures done at Sam's Club a week or so ago.  I made Whitney bring her girls, and today I picked up the pictures.  They turned out so creepy!  Don't they all look like dolls that are going to come to life and get you while you are sleeping?

The Bytheways

My sister and her family came out last night for dinner and to go through baby clothes (since I have the unfinished basement, I am the keeper of many bins of baby clothes).

Ali and Lydia sharing a kiss in their blue chairs.  They were boarderline making out for a minute there!

Howie and Sesaly playing with a plastic bag.  I have a TON of toys, but the plastic bag kept them entertained the longest... go figure!

St. Patty's Day

A little Leprachaun came and left Ali some gold, a tiny My Little Pony with Shamrocks on it and some Lucky Charms!

Ali looked so cute for church, we decided to take some quick pictures with her!

Can you see Ali's cute little green fingernails?

My mom bought this cute onesie for Ali, she's way to big for onesies, but I love what it says!  What a crazy smile!

Our St. Patrick's Day dinner... green mac and cheese (a family tradition), green beans, fresh lime squeezes, and a rainbow fruit salad!

Then we had cheesecake for dessert.  Ali got her very own mini cheesecake!

She held her spoon the whole time and used her other hand to actually eat the cheesecake.

And she ate it all!  Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!

Rock Your Socks

Ali will be 'Rocking her Socks" on Thursday of next week for Down Syndrome Awareness Day! I went ahead and did a mini-photo shoot of her because I might send some pictures and an application in for Ali to model in a Toy's R Us catalog. They have a 'Differently Abled" catalog that they only use special needs kids in. I don't know if Ali would like it or not, but it could be a fun experience!

Hill Climb

Stuart is a big fan of Hill Climb on his phone and ipad.

Ali is a big fan of her Dad!

She is very good at helping him play.

She adds a different level of difficulty to the game!

It's Coming...

We have created some very cute arm-bands to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with Ali!  I am sending these to all of Ali's grandparents, but just in case anyone else is interested in purchasing a band they are $5 each and $2 of that goes to the National Down Syndrome Society.  Check out how cute they turned out HERE!

DS Awareness Video

Down Syndrome Day is coming up!  It's March 21st!  The International Down Syndrome Coalition put together a little video for this special day.  Ali loves to watch it, over and over and over again.

If you want to see the video too, you can check it out HERE

Chumming for Morty

So this is how I get anything done in the kitchen these days.  I feed my child on the floor.  She has a thousand toys, but for some reason, she HAS to be in the kitchen when I am.  If she doesn't have a snack on the floor, she just hangs on my legs and yells at me.

It's become a bit of a sport to 'chum' for Morty.  Here she is baiting him in....

She's caught his attention now (he's a little nervous because he knows he's not supposed to eat Ali's food unless it's offered to him)

I love this picture because you can see how Ali's mouth is open so that he will take a bite!

One for her,

One for Morty.  These two are really the best of friends!
