Ali tells us she loves us now.  We will say, " I love you!" to her and she will say "Iooveooh".  Yes, it's all one word and yes, it's not super clear, but she almost always says it in return and it usually comes with a hug or face pat.

She also loves to give 'knuckles'.  Sometimes I will ask her for a kiss, she will shake her head no but put her little fist up for knuckles instead.  She is quite the little waver too.  She waves like a beauty queen with her little wrist.  She spends a great deal of time during sacrament meeting just waving at people.  She waves at random people at stores and restaurants   A lot of people wave back, and then she usually wants to give them knuckles.  If they don't wave back, she just keeps waving! :)

Ali has picked up a few new signs lately too.  Her signs now include: puppy, please, kitty, bird, eat, water, more, horse, fish, and duck.  Horse is the latest sign she has learned and it is hilarious to watch.  The sign for horse is a little bit strange.  You are basically mimicking a horse's ear with two of your fingers.  You can see how it's done HERE.  Ali does it by scratching the side of her head.  It's pretty cute!  Her sign for fish kind of looks like she is beckoning you over, and it's supposed to look like your hand is a fish swimming through water.  Bird is her 'go-to' sign when she sees an animal and doesn't know the sign.

Ali's favorite word is "Nnnnnnnnnnnno!"  She holds out the N sound FOREVER!  So, she will yell no and I will hold out yes for a long time and she thinks it's pretty funny.  She does shake her head yes now, and that's a great help.  When she tries to say Yes, it ends up being "Eeeeeeeeeees".  I think because that's the sound I hold out when I say it to her.

Ali is also quite the talker on the phone.  And she LOVES to call people, so if anyone is feeling lonely, just let me know and I can arrange a special phone call for you.  She uses lots of things as phones, and she tucks them under her ear so cute and tips her head really far to the side.  Then she jabbers and jabbers about who knows what.

Knocking is her other latest skill.  She is pretty good at it, and sometimes it's crazy to hear a random knocking in your house, just loud enough to think that an adult might be doing it.  She loves to knock on her Aunt Whitney's door, and if it takes her too long to answer, the knocking get's closer and closer to the door knob.

She is still an excellent singer and dancer.  She is quite expressive with her little hands when she dances and sometimes she looks at me like she is impressed with herself.

Wow, I that was a long post, I guess I had a lot of catching up to do!  We sure do love this little bug and are so happy to have her!

The Fun Park

We went to the Fun Park earlier this month with the Bytheways.  Sesaly was so great to 'help' Ali have fun in the soft-play.

Ali has the best cousins... they are so sweet to spend their time with Ali, helping her out and making sure she is included.

Ali's favorite part of the soft-pay was blocking areas.  She loved watching the other kids run around her.  I love seeing other kids interact with Aliyah, there was a little boy (probably around 7 yrs old) and he ran past Ali, then turned around and said, "Wow, she is really cute!"  I love it!

Yes, Ali chose the pink car... I'm not sure what her hands are doing though, probably dancing to the arcade music.

I'm pretty sure she can see her reflection in the middle of the steering wheel.  Vain, vain child. :)

Snow Day

Ali and me playing in the snow while Daddy plowed the driveway... it was short-lived.  It's hard to be small and be so bundled up you can hardly move!

Christmas 2012

This post is so late, but I want to make sure I don't forget to do it!  We had a GREAT Christmas!  Santa came and left us all kinds of great stuff!!

Santa left Ali a Wonder Horse.  I had one just like it when I was growing up!  She loves to bounce on it!

Stuart got me a new temple dress among other gifts.  (I actually returned the dress in this picture and got a different one).

Ali's birth-grandparents spoiled her again!  She got some building blocks from them that she loves!  She also got a fun piano that plays music.  You'll notice that in all of these pictures she is wearing two lovely necklaces, they were in her stocking from Santa and she loves wearing them... with everything!  Perhaps Santa should've brought a different color other than orange.  Orange doesn't seem to match very much.

The cool wagon that came with the blocks from her birth-grandparents.  She loads all kinds of fun stuff in it.

Santa also brought Ali a trike.  Daddy helped her try it out, maybe this summer she'll be able to peddle it herself.

Stuart got some new speakers, tools and some work clothes.  It was a great Christmas!!!

Reading

Ali is quite the reader these days.  For those of you who haven't heard her read yet, here's a little taste (she starts at about 25 seconds in)! :)
