Today I was making Sunday dinner. While I was using a hotpad to help me drain the greenbeans, the steam from the beans must've gotten my hotpad wet. I then proceeded to get the tatertots (don't be jealous of our gourmet dinner!) out of the 450 degree oven, the heat from the pan went right through the wet spot on my hotpad and burnt my finger. So, I being the genius that I am, immediately grabbed the 450 degree pan with my other BARE HAND! And rather than waste a tray of tatertots, or grab the pan back with my protected hand, I held onto it until I set it on the counter (while yelling profanities). Needless to say, I have a very sore index finger on my left hand. :( The moral of the story is: BEWARE OF WET HOTPADS!!!Sunday, August 15, 2010
