FHE Jeeping

We went jeeping for family home evening this week.  We have a couple of canyons that are just a few minutes away from our house that we go up.

Our cute little family, Morty didn't face the camera and Ali is checking out where he is going... that's what you get when the camera is on self-timer.

We love our jeep!  It's been so much fun!

I know I have a ton of these pictures on the blog, but they are some of my favorites!  She looks like a doll in the air!  Plus Ali loves it!

I love this picture, Ali cracks me up.  We are the best of friends! :)

Sous Chef

I was making some cookies last night and Ali decided I needed her help.  So I set her up with a chair, some spoons, wisks, measuring cups and some cheerios.  She stirred and measured then had to sit down and have a little taste test.

Look at that crazy face!

I got out a cookie sheet to start putting the dough on and Ali quickly started putting her 'cookies' on it.  So, I had to get myself another one.

Then she leaned over and grabbed a cookie dough ball!  I think she liked how my cookies tasted better than those dry cheerios I gave her. :)

Nothing like a little sugar rush right before bed, right?!

Flip Flops

I bought Ali some clearance flip flops a few weeks ago.  They are so stinking adorable!  I've hesitated to buy flip flops because I was afraid it would only make walking harder, but she does great in them!

Notice the chunk missing from this adorable flip flop.  Ali ate it!  She's so flexible that her feet spend an amazing amount of time up by her face, and she started chewing on her flip flop.  I think she originally did it because the foam made a squeaky sound between her teeth, but then she took a bite.
I try to watch her now and tell her that we don't put our shoes in our mouth (gross!), and she listens pretty good... but sometimes I'm not watching.

I was originally taking pictuers of Ali walking in her flip flops, but she walked over to the chair and needed to sit in it for pictures.  I can't believe how old she is looking!  And she just keeps getting cuter and cuter!

Twirly Girly

We put this pretty dress on Ali on Sunday and told her how pretty she looked!  I showed her how to twirl in it and she spent the rest of the morning 'twirling'.

Her version of twirling is walking around in the fastest circle she can (which isn't very fast).
She felt pretty and that's what counts!

Yellowstone!

We went on a family vacation to Yellowstone the first week in August.  We ended up leaving a day late (that's another story), but we did get there and had a blast!

Yes, Stuart looks super creepy with his teeth, and Ali is doing some gymnastic move in her carseat and hiding behind the bear we bought her at the gift shop.  Driving in Yellowstone is pretty much ridiculous, people see one buffalo and just stop in the middle of the road.  It backs things up pretty bad.

It was so funny because you would see one buffalo and a thousand people stopping to see it, then if you continued to drive about 10-20 feet there was an entire herd of buffalo.  We didn't stop once, I just took pictures from the truck... maybe they aren't postcard quality, but it was worth it not to stop and stand with the crowds!  The buffalo in the top left corner was literally right next to our truck as we drove by.

Yellowstone, Earthquake Lake

We went to Earthquake Lake on our first day in Yellowstone.

Look at that frown on Ali!  She really was having fun, I promise!

The girls.

Paul, pondering life.

Yup, Ali got thrown higher than the mountains.

Howie really is so sweet with Ali.  She loves to lead her around and they were actually headed over to get Ali to pose for a picture that Howie wanted to take.

Handsome man.

I'm not sure why we were so excited, Ali probably just wanted to be held by Stuart and he was behind the camera.

Some of the Bytheway family and my friend Sarah's cute girl Lily.

The Bytheway girls!

Yellowstone, Ghost Town

We went to a ghost town that was fairly disappointing.  It ended up being a bit of a tourist trap, but it was still cool to see all the old stuff.

Everyone at lunch, the Bytheway family and the Holen family.

You'll notice that Ali is very much into pointing at the camera these days... I don't know why!

She was doing some pretty crazy walking on the boardwalk!  It was slightly tilted in spots and it made for some fun pictures. :)

Howie (age 4) took a family picture for us, we look like giants from her angle!

There was an old car that you could take pictures in... Ali was all about driving!

This was Ali's favorite part of the ghost town, the flowers, she stood there for about 10 minutes looking at all of them and signing flower.  In this picture, she is waving at the camera.

When we got back to Yellowstone it had hailed!  It looked like snow!

Yellowstone, Fishing Bridge

The campground we stayed at was Fishing Bridge.  It was so beautiful (but really, all of Yellowstone is).

Ali probably would've gotten in all the way if we had allowed it.  She was very sad when it was time to leave the river.

Our family on Fishing Bridge!

Cute little Howie.  I really do adore all of Whitney's kids.  They are a joy to be with!

Yellowstone, continued...

We stopped for a picnic lunch on our way out of Yellowstone.

Stuart and Sesaly crossed the river, Sesaly got a little wetter than Stuart.

Ah, she loves the camera!

This little chimpmunk was very well fed by Howie and Sesaly.  I think he's set for winter now.

Our family at Yellowstone Falls.

This waterfall was beautiful, but it's hard to capture it on a camera.

Cute little girls!

This is how Ali 'walked' for most of the trip.  She would walk a few steps then just pick up her feet and say, 'weeee!'  She thought it was great!
We had tons of fun on our little trip and love camping in our new trailer!
