Crib Protection

My sister, Whit has the same crib as me and darling little Lydia has practically eaten through the wood on the front railing.  So, Whitney, being the kind-hearted soul that she is, decided to help me save my crib from a similar fate!  She found this cute idea on pintrest and I think it turned out cute!  Thanks Whit!

Silent Crying

Ali does this crazy silent cry thing.  She will be happy then all of a sudden she looses it and is making faces like this one but is completely silent.  I feel so bad because I have no idea she is sad!  This picture was taken at the fair, she was having fun looking at the pigs and then one stood up.  I thought she was still having fun, then Whitney went to take a picture and this is the face she had!   She does ultimately end up crying outloud, but this silent crying can go on for a few minutes!  Poor little thing!

Snack Time!

Morty is so nice to share his food with Aliyah...

Everytime she eats a piece she acts like it's the grossest thing she has ever eaten, yet she still eats it!!!  Gross, gross, gross!

First Haircut

Grandma Cutler gave Ali her first hair-cut last week!  It was looking pretty shaggy in the back so we got it all evened up!

Grandma is great at cutting a moving target!

All done!  We really didn't take that much off, but I saved the little 1/2 inch anyways! :)

Berry Picking

We went with the Bytheway cousins to pick some blackberries a week or so ago.  We went early (lol, early for us is 9:30 am).  These blackberries are DELICIOUS!  It's all-you-can-eat while you pick, which is great for the kids!  Oh, and don't you love how Ali rides in her stroller these days?  Rear-facing is safer... right?
And after this fun adventure I had to go to the car wash to clean the stroller... and there will always be blackberry stains!

Strange...

Ali is into doing this 'tri-pod' thing lately.  She likes to crawl around on her feet and hands and then stop and rest her head to the ground and play with toys, the ipad, etc.  I guess she's just strengthening up her neck?

Crazy girl!

New Car!

Here it is!  My new car!!!  Last Thursday we went against everything we ever said and bought a new car off of a car lot!  It is a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI.  It's a turbo diesel and so much fun to drive.  Stuart knows all of the specifics, but here is what I know....
It's fast,
It's pretty,
and it gets great gas mileage!
Yay for a new car!

Cache County Fair!

We took a few trips down to the Cache County Fair a few weeks back, it was lots of fun!  Ali liked seeing the animals, if she got to stay in her stroller.

Heidi, Grandma and Annaka joined us!

Cheesing it up at the Rodeo.  Ali was actually really funny at the rodeo, everytime other people clapped she would clap right along with them.  I'm not even sure she realized what was going on, but if everyone else is happy, then so is she!

Sesaly and Howie on the train... I couldn't bring myself to pay $3 for a ride at the fair... and I'm glad I didn't purchase any tokens, because I'm pretty sure it will be YEARS before Ali is actually tall enough to ride on any of them!

Gum

Somehow Ali smuggled some gum into her crib.  This is what I found in the morning.  She had chewed up a piece and it was stuck in her hair by her ear.  It was early and I didn't know what to do with it, so I gave her a bottle and put her back to bed like I usually do.  I thought she went back to sleep, but aparently she just chewed up the rest of her gum that was hidden somewhere in her crib and got MORE gum stuck in her bangs.  After some help from facebook friends and a google search, we grabbed some olive oil and it came right out!  I was amazed and very thankful that I didn't have to chop it out of her hair!

Future Career Possiblity

Ali just might become a dentist!  Although I'm not sure how much return business she will get.  If she's lucky her hands will stay nice and tiny and she won't even have to use tools! :)

New Obsession

Ali is obsessed with Morty.  I can't keep her away from him.  Thank goodness he's such an amazing dog!  She pokes and kisses him ALL DAY LONG!

She loves to 'help' him chew his bone.  She just wants to hold it for him while he chews.  he is so careful not to get her fingers.

Morty makes it look so good that she has to try it for herself.  Yes, I'm a bad mom that grabbed the camera before taking the bone out of my daughter's mouth. :)

Morty sometimes needs a little break, but Ali always finds him!  I don't have any pictures but she has also been into his food/water lately.  I kept trying to stop her from eating his food, but then yesterday I decided to just let her eat a piece and see if she changed her own mind.  She crunched into a piece and realized why people don't eat dog food. :)  Now she just throws it.  She also likes to 'drink' out of his water dish with her mouth.  I'll find her back there on her hands and knees.  So gross.  I guess I should be happy she almost made it to 2 yrs old without getting into it, but still.... it's disgusting!

Camping

We went camping at Bear Lake with the Bytheway family for the 24th of July!  They were kind enough to let us sleep in their fancy new trailer.  We had so much fun!

Haircut?

This poor girl can't see a thing if her hair isn't done.  Her hair insists on hanging forward, right in her face.  I really don't want to cut bangs for her, I'm hoping this is just an awkward stage.  I guess time will tell!

Typical girl, sucking in her stomach for the photo! :)  Our little family went to the special-needs swim at the Aquatic Center in Logan.  Every Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m. they let special needs kids/families swim for free!  We had a blast!

P.S. My poor computer died and I just got my new one today, so there will be some catching up to do on this blog!
